A Bucket of Snowballs

I've been invited to be the Guest Designer at Digital Delights today. I'm thrilled to have been invited and was given this adorable image Snowball Sarah from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

I colored my image with Copics and I applied Cool Glitter Ritz on the cuffs, top of her boots, her hat and on her coat wrists.  I applied Glossy Accents to the bucket so it looks more like metal but it's not showing up well in the photographs. The snow falling around my image is White Pearl Pen with Susie sparkle Crystal Rainbow glitter sprinkled over it. The 3 larger snowflakes are buttons by Dress It Up with the backs cut off and I added glitter to them.

The mittens are a die by Memory Box and I applied white puffy paint to the cuffs and Stampendous Glitter Embossing Powder to the mittens. The stamp sentiments are by Whimsy and the trees are a die by Magnolia. My bow is seam binding with a clear snowflake button glued in the middle. The frame die around my image is by Die-Namics.

I'd like to thank Larelyn, Sr. Designer and Team Coordinator, for her invitation and also thank the team for their support and encouraging comments!

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Today I'm honored to be invited to be the Guest Designer at CCC Digi Creations. I was thrilled to find out that Bugaboo was the sponsor and Challenge 38 is ANYTHING GOES. I adore Bugaboo images because they're fun, cute and make just about everyone smile. I was given this image named Little Penguin Winter Bench and decided to imagine these two little penguins are patiently waiting for the bus to take them to the North Pole.

The tree border is a die by Frantic Stamper and I used my glue pen and sprinkled Art Crystal Ultra Fine Glitter all over them in a random pattern. I also used this same glitter on the snow but instead of a glue pen, I used Glossy Accents as my adhesive. I like the Glossy Accents because of how it dries raised, giving me more texture. I also put the Glossy Accents on the tree star and ornaments. I love these papers from Bo Bunny and thought the pastel papers brought out the colors of my image. The glitter buttons are from Doodlebug. My sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the little penguin in the middle of my bow, which I colored to match my image, is actually a brad. Isn't this image just too cute?!

The Design Team at CCC Digi Creations have made some adorable cards to inspire you to join the challenge of ANYTHING GOES. I'd like to thank Lisa at CCC Digi Creations for inviting me to be their Guest Designer and for letting me use this adorable image, and thank you to the Design Team for their encouragement!

On Dasher!

I've been invited to be the Guest Designer at Cute As A Button for this challenge. I'm honored and thrilled to have been invited to have the chance to join this talented Design Team for this challenge of WINTER. I've used this image named Tangled Lights. Isn't this image the sweetest ever!  I love her and want to thank Francesca for letting me use her for this challenge. I love using red at the holidays. I think the bright colors are fabulous at Christmas because they're happy colors and red at the holidays is perfect!

I colored my image with Copics and added some Glossy Accents to each light bulb. The pearl in the center of the bow in the corner is a brad with the legs cut off and glued on.

I used white iridescent sequins and added itsy bitsy pearls in the center of each (since I don't like the holes showing in the sequins). Her little white tail has white fun flock on it for a fluffy look. My sentiment tags are from Lili of the Valley and I tied them to the bit of red lace and tan edging on top of the lace with embossing floss. The reindeer in my arrangement is a button from Dress It Up and I cut off the shank and glued him in, and the candy cane is actually a miniature ornament from Hobby Lobby. The pinecones, which are real, and the silk flowers have a dash of gold paint on all of them and I added a small gold bell to my red, green and white baker's twine bow. I used papers by Doodlebug. The 3 gold glitter flat backed pearls are from JoAnns. I spotted her bag and then added a dash of glitter to each dot for sparkle.

I hope you'll stop by the Cute As A Button Challenge Blog and see the outstanding projects the Design Team has made to inspire you to join the challenge of WINTER.

Thank you, Francesca and the Team, for inviting me to be your Guest Designer this week and for all your kindness and words of encouragement!

Fabulous Christmas Colors!

There's a new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge and I've been invited to be a Guest Design Team member for this challenge of "U" IS FOR UNIQUE COLORS FOR CHRISTMAS. Our sponsor is Bugaboo and I'm delighted to use this adorable image for my card!

I colored my image with Copics and then used purple Pearlescent Chalk by Pebbles to color the background of my image.  I added some White Frantage by Stampendous for the snow that is falling and the snow on the ground is made with white paint and then sprinkled with White Crystal Snow by Stampendous over it while it was wet. I love the look of this glitter!

I used my Spellbinders die for the oval and scallop around my image. The deer is a wood cut out and I painted it with brown hobby paint. The package in the corner is a rub on and I put it on white paper and then colored it with my Copics to match my papers and then cut it out. For dimension I added Glossy Accents to the ornaments in my little image's hands and to the polka dots and ribbon on the package. I tied my bow and then cut off the legs of a purple snowflake brad from my stash and glued it in the middle of my bow.

My snowflakes are precut from Hobby Lobby and I layered a white iridescent and a clear iridescent one and then held them together with a white brad. I used a CK Punch for my sentiment and my sentiment is a very old one from a Precious Moments set of stamps that was distributed by Stampendous in the 1980's. Those lime green jewels are from Queen & Co.

Thank you, Samantha and the Design Team, for the invitation to join you for this fabulous challenge. I had a great time picking my image and then coloring it 'uniquely'. ;)  I appreciate the opportunity to be your Guest for this challenge!

The Design Team at ABC Christmas Challenge have created some wonderful projects to inspire you and encourage you to join this challenge. Remember, the challenge is "U" IS FOR UNIQUE COLORS FOR CHRISTMAS.

Little Jack and Bushels

I was invited to be the Guest Designer today at Paradise of Stamps where the new challenge topic is "BOYS" -- your card needs to have a boy image on it.  I used this rubber stamped image by Elisabeth Bell named Little Jack and Bushels "Painting the Fence". Making boy cards isn't something I do very often and it was quite a challenge to not add lace, flowers, ribbon and pearls!

I colored my image with Copics and used Glossy Accents to make the paint look wet. I used EK punches for my sentiment, the oval dies are a nesting set by Quic Kutz, and the fence is a die by My Favorite Things.  There's a brass buckle at the top corner that I wrapped the baker's twine around and on the bottom is a brass corner that I  added a few dark blue rhinestones.  The brass pieces are from Stampin' Up.

Poor Jack had to paint this old worn fence during his summer vacation and you can see he's gotten a bit too much sun on his back!  And his friend, Bushels, is smart enough to stay out of the way of that paint!

Thank you, Laurigami, for inviting me to be your Guest for this challenge and thank you to the Design Team for their nice comments about my card.  I hope you'll visit Paradise of Stamps and see the awesome projects made by the Design Team to inspire you to join in this BOY challenge.

Are we there yet?

How many times have we said this as a child: are we there yet?  How many times have we heard this as a parent: are we there yet? Now comes the truth...how many times have I've said that as an adult to my husband as he's driving!  I don't think we outgrow being excited and anxious to get to our destination!

I'm honored to be invited as a Guest Designer at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for Challenge 24.  The topic is TRAVEL.  Such a great topic with so much interpretation! Here's the inspiration image. Isn't this an adorable little trailer...makes me want to rethink my rules that: a) I don't camp out; b) I never sleep on the ground no matter what kind of mattress there is; and, c) I want a real bathroom to use with running water. Okay, it ALMOST makes me want to rethink my rules but not quite.

For my card I used an image from Stampin' Up that I got in 2004. I know the year since it's on the stamp set and I remember getting it as soon as it came out and then bought the "extra" set that has more 'stuff' that you can put in the back of the pick-up truck.  A very versatile stamp set!

I've interpreted the theme as travel as this:  This is the farmer traveling to deliver his pumpkins to market.

I colored my truck and pumpkins with my Prisma colored pencils and blended them with Gamsol. I was attempting to keep it older looking because the stamp isn't all solid lines, but is somewhat 'sketched.  My leaves are dies by Tailored Expressions, the rake is a die by Marianne and my paper is from Bo Bunny. I don't know where I got my sentiment from, sorry!

I'd like to thank Jane and Katie for their invitation and help getting my card posted to the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and also thanks to the Design Team for their encouragement and nice comments.

I hope you'll join the Design Team at Retro Rubber for Challenge 24 with the topic of TRAVEL.
