Are we there yet?

How many times have we said this as a child: are we there yet?  How many times have we heard this as a parent: are we there yet? Now comes the truth...how many times have I've said that as an adult to my husband as he's driving!  I don't think we outgrow being excited and anxious to get to our destination!

I'm honored to be invited as a Guest Designer at Retro Rubber Challenge Blog for Challenge 24.  The topic is TRAVEL.  Such a great topic with so much interpretation! Here's the inspiration image. Isn't this an adorable little trailer...makes me want to rethink my rules that: a) I don't camp out; b) I never sleep on the ground no matter what kind of mattress there is; and, c) I want a real bathroom to use with running water. Okay, it ALMOST makes me want to rethink my rules but not quite.

For my card I used an image from Stampin' Up that I got in 2004. I know the year since it's on the stamp set and I remember getting it as soon as it came out and then bought the "extra" set that has more 'stuff' that you can put in the back of the pick-up truck.  A very versatile stamp set!

I've interpreted the theme as travel as this:  This is the farmer traveling to deliver his pumpkins to market.

I colored my truck and pumpkins with my Prisma colored pencils and blended them with Gamsol. I was attempting to keep it older looking because the stamp isn't all solid lines, but is somewhat 'sketched.  My leaves are dies by Tailored Expressions, the rake is a die by Marianne and my paper is from Bo Bunny. I don't know where I got my sentiment from, sorry!

I'd like to thank Jane and Katie for their invitation and help getting my card posted to the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog and also thanks to the Design Team for their encouragement and nice comments.

I hope you'll join the Design Team at Retro Rubber for Challenge 24 with the topic of TRAVEL.
