Christmas Bells or Candles

The challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' this month is CHRISTMAS BELLS OR CANDLES.  I chose to use this beautiful bell image from Robyn's Fetish and colored it with Copics, adding some Glossy Accents to the berries. I attempted a card that doesn't have a lot of embellishments on it with the main accent on the center which was the image. I noticed the 'clean' look over at the challenge at Case-Ing Christmas and thought I'd give it a try.

I used my Spellbinders large Grand Nestabilities scallop die for this card and the round dies are from Quic Kutz. This card is quite large at a full 6 inches. And now for the big surprise....

It's an easel card! I have made so few easel cards that to make this one, I had to look at the first one I ever received and copy it. Thanks, Charlene, since if you hadn't given me that little round Magnolia easel card for Christmas years ago, I would have struggled to figure out the folds. ;) To make this card nice and sturdy, I made the entire thing out of heavy white cardstock and then began gluing my papers to that.

My sentiment is from the Frantic Stamper and I used a holly embossing punch from Nellie Snellen and a Cheery Lynn pine needle diecut along with some pretty red berry flat back pearls. The red paper is actually velvet paper and the gold paper is glitter paper.

This month we're sponsored by All Dressed Up who has donated two digital images of the winner's choice from their store. If you haven't visited All Dressed Up, please do!

The gals at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' love making Christmas cards no matter what season it is and we enjoyed the topic of CHRISTMAS BELLS OR CANDLES and hope you'll join us this month with your creation.

                                                                                      Hugs,
                                                                             Gail

  3. Moan, groan, I hate the thought of winter, with spring just beginning here, but this card is so pretty. With your superb coloring/shading, the image isn't in need of extra embellishments, but once again, you've heaped elegance on it by using the gold glitter paper, as well as the red velvet -- lush and plush !! And then making it an easel card, well, that just adds even more to its exquisiteness. This is bound to be a challenge winner -- good luck !!
