Here's the challenge for you this week at Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge Blog...use a HAND COLORED IMAGE on your card/project. Here's my card as inspiration to you and I used the image from Crafty Sentiments Designs named Twinkle Fairy.
The papers are from my stash as are the buttons and enamel, flat backed brads; the red sparkly (I love sparkly) jewels in the corner of my image are from Queen & Co.; The flowers are from Wild Orchid; and, the sentiment is from The Stamps of Life and I used a Stampin' Up punch to punch them out. The Stamps of Life is a company I saw at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Phoenix. I don't recommend the stamps. The set I have are all small sentiments and as I use them, I keep finding that some of the letters are "cut off" on the clear stamp, so when I stamp them, they're not whole. I've returned them once only to get a second set that has the same issues as the first set.
My fairy is colored with Copics and I highlighted her wings with a touch of peach and then coated them with Warm Glitter Ritz for the sparkle and shine cause fairies without sparkly wings can't fly. I don't know why my little fairy's face looks mottled. She looks fine in person. I can only wonder if it was lighting since I tried to take this picture with light coming in from a window. This is such a poor example for the challenge "use a hand colored image" cause it looks like I can't color for beans. My apologies to you for this poor photograph.
The prize this week at Crafty Sentiments Design Blog is a voucher to the store. Take a look at the cards the Design Team has created for this challenge of USE A HAND COLORED IMAGE and let's see what you can do!
Hugs,
Gail

ReplyDeleteAwm what a strikingly elegant card, my dear -- I've always loved the contrast of red and black. The flowers are gorgeous (I've always been partial to poppies, even though I can't grow them!!). Really -- I didn't know fairies couldn't fly without SPARKLY wings -- hahahaha -- but, truly, it does make sense !! This is a fabulous card and I hope Crafty Sentiments know they're lucky to have you on their design team . . . good luck on the challenges you've entered this beauty into.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! Your coloring is wonderful -- especially those sparkly wings that give her flight! Thanks for joining us this week at Deliightful Challenge. Julie, DT member
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous,Gail. The colours are so striking and love how the little touch of green enhances everything further.A fabulous layout too.Beautifully coloured and,of course,no fairy would be complete without magical, sparkly wings. Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog.I'm no expert,I've just always liked colouring and am always looking to improve. It's mostly down to practice and I don't get too hung up with rules about light sources.I just put shading where I think it looks right :)
