Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

Well, some of you have snow right now, or have had snow already and may not appreciate me singing all these songs about snow. Sorry, but we don't have snow here in Phoenix and are happy we don't! And on that note, the challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' is LET IT SNOW!

I used this new Mo Manning image for my card. I used Spellfinders dies for the image, the shape of the card is a die by Cheery Lynn, the snowflakes are Whimsy and Provo dies, and the sentiment die is by Sizzix. I used some white acrylic paint to put snow on my sentiment. I found a wonderful "snow" glitter by American Crafts called WOW! Glitter.  It's white and extra fine and is the wonderful sparkle on my Eskimo's cuffs, hood and on the ground; and, I sprinkled it on the wet white acrylic paint, too.

Our sponsor at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' is Flatfriends who have donated four digis to our winner this month.  Take a look at our challenge blog and see the cards the Design Team has made for our "Let It Snow" topic.  Show us what you can make to match our theme this month!

                                                                         Hugs,
                                                                         Gail

  14. Gail, it is hard for me to understand how you can live in Arizona and yet create the cool, colors of winter on your cards! I love this cute little Eskimo and the pretty little centers of the snowflakes are perfect! We are recovering from the flu. Our grandsons were sick over Christmas at various time. Makes for some interesting memories. hope you have a blessed Christmas!

    1. Patty Sue, because we have such long summers, I live for winter time to arrive here. And sometimes making winter cards in the dead of summer helps get my mind off the fact that outside my craft room window it's 118 or hotter. Hugs, Gail

  16. This is a snowy beautiful card - and you DO have snow in AZ, it just happens to be man-made for the skiers !! This is a gorgeous card and you've captured the sparkle of snow when it's so beautiful while fresh and white and fluffy.
Lovely shape, wonderful coloring, and a great touch of "pizzazz" !!

  22. Hi Gail,
Hope you had a great Christmas and a good start into the New Year. I can imagine you don't have many white Christmases where u live, nor do we have here in SE UK, and having grown up in the North of Sweden, I really miss them. Very sweet image and card. Thanks for sharing with us at LLC & Happy New Year!

    1. Sandy, I miss LOOKING at the snow and pretty scenery outside, but I sure don't miss trying to get to and from work in the snow, slush and ice. :) But, yes, I miss seeing snow, too. Hugs, Gail

    1. It's been a tough month. My dad didn't feel well with stomach cramping on Dec. 19 and went to the emergency room. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 abdominal cancer. Dad died 12 days later just as the clock chimed the 2014 New Year. I didn't have a card due for the month challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' until Jan. 22, so watch for that. The Design Team at The Paper Shelter encouraged me to time to focus on family matters, and myself a bit, and I'll have a card being posted on Jan. 22 for them, too. It's been a difficult holiday season and I do hope 2014 improves. Thank you for noticing I've been absent and your caring means a lot to me. Hugs, Gail
