This card is my swan song (if you don't know what a swan song is, please click here) for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Team. I want to thank Abi and Fi for the invitation to join their team one year ago and the experience and knowledge I have gained from being on this team. They also gave me my FIRST Design Team badge! Thank you Abi, Fi and my Team Members for this outstanding experience.
I was stumped for this challenge. All I could think of is: how do I ever use white and one color with this image...a snowman and a Christmas tree. I put on my thinking cap and decided to make my image look like a black and white photo and then use my one color (red) to highlight around my image. I used all "W" shades of my Copics on the image. To be sure I was shading correctly, I colored the image in regular colors and then photocopied it on a black and white machine. That gave me a clue how dark blue shows up as compared to green or red when all the colors are done in shades of black toner ink.
I used dies from Spellbinders, Cheery Lynn, QuikCutz and Memory Box and I sewed the pine branches to the card.
The monthly sponsor for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog is the Ribbon Girl who has generously donated a £10 voucher. And as I mentioned above, our weekly sponsor is the Stamp Fairy and their digital images are fabulous!
Take a look at the Design Team's creations and maybe you'll get an idea for your card in this challenge of WHITE PLUS ONE COLOR! Thank you again to Abi and Fi for the opportunity to be on the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog Team this past year and I hope you all like my last card submitted as a DT Member.
Hugs,
Gail

I love red and white, particularly at Christmas, so this card hits all the right buttons for me. What a fabulous idea to use a photocopy to help colour a b/w image - I'll certainly be trying that! So sad that you're leaving us at Sweet Stampin' but I'm sure we'll all stay in touch. Have a wonderful Christmas! Love and hugs, Tracey xx
