I LOVE this plaid paper that I bought years ago and have saved the piece in my stash. I think I may have purchased it for an Easter card, but never used it and am so glad I still had it. It's definitely plaid! I used this pretty flower image from Little Miss Muffet and colored it with Copics.
The shape of my card is made with a die by Quik Cutz. The butterfly is a punch by Martha Stewart and I colored white paper with my pink Copics to match the flowers and added 3 pretty clear pink pearls by Queen & Co. as the body and then glittered the whole butterfly with Stickles. Using Stickles also made the butterfly a little more stiff, avoiding him getting crushed when this card goes in a clear envelope. The clear rhinestone swirls are by Recollections.
Here's a close-up of the flowers. I used Liquid Pearls paint in the middle then flocking on top of the wet paint to give them texture. I fussy cut the flowers out and glued them on the white diecut which I think is by Marianne. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up and I stamped it on paper colored with my Copics to match the center of the flowers and then glued it to a clear acrylic block by Modge Podge.
This is a bow that I couldn't make with just 2 hands...I used my trusty Craft-Dee Bowz tool and first made the white satin bow and kept the knot loose. Then I made a smaller size bow with the pink ribbon. I slid the white bow back on my bow maker and then slid the pink bow in the knot of the white satin bow and then tightened the white satin bow knot. It's an awesome bow, not too thick in the middle and I added this hand made acrylic button in the middle. The button is shaped like a cup with the holes about 1/4" down inside the center and I used yellow waxed thread to tie the knot inside it. I rarely use buttons and don't put something in the button holes. Thanks, Donna, for the white satin ribbon from a past month and the pink ribbon this month!
HugZ, (get it, like BowZ?)

Ah, yes, girly cards are so much more fun than boy cards - hahaha. This card amazes me with all its features -- starting with the shape, then on with the plaid, the double colored ribbon is very cute, the swirls of gems are sweet, your coloring/shading is superb, and love how you textured the flower centers. You certainly have a creative bend with all your little "special" touches. Fabulous, as always, but I'd not expect anything else of you, Gail !!
