A Spring Dance

It's June already and that means a new challenge at Craft-Dee BowZ!  The challenge for June is:  Anything Goes and Include a Handmade Bow.  I hope you'll pull out your ribbon, seam binding or baker's twine and make a bow to add to your creation and will join us this month!

I used a Martha Stewart Punch set for the shape of my card, the view master die is by Little Darlings and the die around my image is by Cheery Lynn and I used my Cuttlebug with my dies. I used a round punch on my Whimsy sentiment. The paper in the background...well, it wasn't colored so vibrantly so I took my markers and colored the flowers to match my card colors. The lace and cream pleated ribbon is from my stash, as are the pearls.  I recently had someone over and they entered my girl cave and were slightly overwhelmed by the number of punches and flowers I've collected over the years. I'm attempting to use some of them more often and quit hoarding flowers that I think are too pretty to use!

This is an image from La-La Land that I got years ago while taking my Copic class at 7 Kids College Fund with Suzanne Dean.  Thank you, Suzanne, for the lesson you taught us using this image!

I have a tip about shading around your image.  If you're fussy cutting out your image but want to shade behind it, what I did was lightly trace around my fussy cut image and then inked around my pencil line with my finger dauber.  Then I colored her and adhered her to the oval.



The flowers are from Wild Orchid and I Am Roses. The leaf punch and embosser set if by Nellie Snellen. I added a little glitter by Hero Arts on the edges of my flowers using my Zig glue pen. I have to admit to being a die hard fan of 'fine' loose glitter and have all kinds from many companies. I only wished it photographed as nice as it is in person.

 

This gorgeous bow is made with ribbon provided to me by Donna at Craft-Dee BowZ.  I used my Craft-Dee BowZ tool to make the bow and it came out just perfect. This little bow making tool is fabulous and I'm so happy with the excellent bows I'm now making!
