A Blue Christmas

Do you think the color blue is fabulous for representing cold? I do, so when Christmas at Sweet Stampin' announced that the next challenge was BLUE CHRISTMAS, I knew that my card would have snowflakes on it.

I made my background paper with an embossing folder. I inked inside it with a brayer and then put my white paper in and then used my Cuttlebug to emboss. After that, I took my brayer and went over the raised side of the paper again with the same ink. I had 2 sided paper to chose from and I used this side. The banner on the right is made with 4 washi tapes on white paper and then cut and mounted on blue paper. My sentiment tags are by Whimsy. I LOVE shaped buttons so this little green Christmas tree button was perfect to 'hold' the tags. Oh, and those silver sparkly flat backed pearls are by Queen & Co. and were given to me by Lillian. Thanks Lillian! My bow is a double looped and I put 2 iridescent snowflakes, with a white brad in the center to hold it all together.

This adorable image is by Limited Runs and she's colored with Copics. I used my Viva Pearl paint pen on all the fur of her outfit and then sprinkled Cool Glitter Ritz over the wet paint. I love the look because of how it's slightly 3-D and the pearl ink shows a bit through the glitter. The glittery snow is Star Dust Stickles. I added touches of Glossy Accents to the ornaments on the tree, the star and the snowflakes.

This month the Christmas at Sweet Stampin' blog is sponsored by Flat Friends who is offering two free digital images to the winner.

I hope you'll visit the blog at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' to see the other awesome cards made by the Design Team. Our challenge is the second Wednesday of each month, so you have plenty of time to make a card or project for our challenge of BLUE CHRISTMAS.

                                                                                      Hugs,
                                                          Gail
