Snow much fun!

It's that time again...time for some inspiration from Craft-Dee BowZ for the month of March. I know that a lot of you live in snowy areas and want to put this season behind you, but I couldn't resist making another winter card. I love the season since I live in the desert of Arizona and we cherish these couple of months of temps in the 70's knowing it's going to increase by another 50 degrees for the summer. When asked what my favorite season is...it's winter! I hope my card inspires you to come on over to Craft-Dee BowZ and join us for our monthly challenge. And no, you don't have to make a winter card. Our challenge is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HANDMADE BOW.

I used this adorable Elisabeth Bell image and fussy cut around her. I've used Bridal white glitter by Sprinkle n Sparkle on the fur of her coat and a dab of Stickles Star Dust on her bow and berries on her hat. While adding the glitter, a tiny drop of glue dripped and when I tried to wipe it off, I gave my poor little girl a scar on her cheek. It's always so upsetting when this happens and it's the last step of the card you've made. Sigh. She's sledding down a hill made with an edge die by Spellbinders.

The shaker circle by Impression Obsession is filled with Stampendous purple Fragments and assorted beads and I stamped inside with two little Stamps by Judith--one is a star and the other is 3 dots. I used a Spellbinders scallop edge die to back the shaker circle and embellished it with purple pearls.

My paper is by Doodlebug Frosty Friends pad and this has been my favorite winter pad this year and I've used numerous pages from it and even purchased a second pad at an after Christmas sale for next year! My purple bow was the finishing touch and, of course, I used my awesome bow maker by Craft-Dee BowZ. I don't know how I would have managed this bow without it. I went ahead and left the tails of the ribbon long and wrapped them around my card front before attaching it to my heaviest white card base. I did it like this because I didn't want the 'tails' to hang off the bottom of this card. I love how the double bow came out and it reminds me of a bow tie. ;)

My teammates at Craft-Dee BowZ have created some awesome projects for this March 1 inspiration post kicking off our March ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HANDMADE BOW challenge. I hope you'll join us this month!

                                                                      Gail

  6. I love the purples you've done this in, and yes, the background paper is awesome. The girl on the sled is colored up perfectly (as always!) and what a great idea to make her a hill to slide down. Great shaker medallion addition and a perfect bow. This has got to win a challenge or two or three somewhere in your listings!! Good Luck to you . . . and I'd be most happy to send you some "real" winter, if I could !!!

  9. I love shaker cards! And I love winter cards! Although winter is NOT my favourite season - I dislike it very much actually! Too cold for me! And too snowy! I am definitely living in the wrong place for someone who dislikes winter! But back to your card... I wouldn't have noticed her cheek if you had not mentioned it and even so, I don't think it is noticeable at all, but yes, I hate when something like this happens after all that colouring, which you've done beautifully!

  13. Even with the scar on her cheek, she's adorable! Almost made me want it to stay winter a little bit longer... until I felt the cold draft from the opened door. Ha! Thanks for sharing and joining us at Inspiration Destination. Hope to see you again and good luck!

  15. This is such a clever creation! There are so many great details and fun things to look at. I really like your incorporation of the shaker circle and how it mimics snow, but a gorgeous purple bead version of snow! I also really love the image you chose and how happy she looks sledding down her hill. The snow slope is perfect and the addition of the little elements like glitter and the ribbon give it a great feeling of sophistication. You did an amazing job and I'm so glad you shared this with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

P.S. I had to really zoom in to see the "scar" on her cheek. However, it's very frustrating to be done and then have an "accident"!

  33. Gail I love your card....I wondered if you have ever used the Stamping Up glue eraser? I use mine all the time when I have a sticky spot I want to get rid of. Not sure if it would resolve this problem but maybe worth a try in the future. LOL! I am always doing something like that! Anyway, I do love the card and the scar looks like a highlight to me! I love the curvy die cut and definitely will have to invest in one. Have a great week-end!
