Peaceful and serene

Being on The Paper Shelter Design Team is fabulous. The members get to use all the new images as they're released. Pedro and Veronica, the owners and artists, of The Paper Shelter gave us the below image this winter named Holy Night. This image reminds me of the song "Silent Night Holy Night" because of how peaceful and serene it looks. I was at first daunted by the detail so I put the image aside. This past week I sized and printed the image and sat down and colored it with my Copics. I'm happy with how it came out and I, truthfully, love the card. It's my standard favorite 6"x6" card which enabled me to use this digital image in a size large enough to shade my coloring. This size card also gives me space to use pretty embellishments! This card is not my usual flowery/ribbon/lace creation, and I hope you like it, too.  Your mission, should you chose to accept it, is to make a card that contains DIECUTS AND/OR PUNCHES. This post will NOT self-destruct in 20 seconds. Oh, I saw Mission Impossible on television this afternoon, can you tell?

I used a Martha Stewart punch around my image and the two little deer in the bottom left corner are sold as a set by Impression Obsession which I just purchased and this is the first time I've used them. I cut out with my Cuttlebug and even their antlers cut out great! Using the two deer were perfect for the Cuttlebug Mania challenge named "It Takes Two". My paper is from Oh Deer! paperpack by Fancy Pants and is new, too. The white snow and fluff on her hat is WOW! Fine White Glitter sprinkled over Viva pearl pen paint. My sentiment is by Hampton Art. I colored my deer to represent a whitetail deer since I'm from Connecticut and that's what we have there. Did you know that a whitetail deer raises it's tail when he feel danger, and it's white underneath, alerting the other deer? We recently saw a trail that deer used and could see where the bark was missing from trees where the deer rub their antlers in order to get the 'felt' off them after they've grown back in. Did you know their antlers fall off each year?
