Skating Fun!

I love to ice skate...well, I did when I lived where it was cold enough to have ice! My favorite season has always been winter and I miss the cold weather living here in Phoenix, Arizona. The challenge this week at Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog is USE DIE CUTS.  I used this adorable stamp by Crafty Sentiments Designs named New Winter Skates.

I used a Spellbinders die for my image and the sentiment die is by Whimsy. The double layer snowflake is a combination of Spellbinders and Whimsy. The ornament paper and the green striped paper (the layer under the lace) are from a 6"x6" Wild Rose paper pack. I think this is one of my favorite paper packs this winter since I love the color combination of pink and green.

 

She's colored with Copics and to get the look of dimensional white fur on her outfit, I applied Glossy Accents first and then sprinkled White Glitter Ritz on the wet Glossy Accents.  I used white dimensional paint for the snowflakes and ran Star Dust Stickles around the oval. The ice is colored with a light aqua Copic and then covered in Glossy Accents which I think gives it a great ice look. The aqua pearls, two kinds of lace and the pompom strip are from my stash of supplies. I think this is my favorite style card. I wouldn't call it 'modern' but it's not really 'old fashioned', either. If I could name my personal style, I guess I'd call it cute and pretty.
