Holiday Shopping

The challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog this week is USE METAL SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW.  Please note that you must MAKE IT CLEAR WHAT AND WHERE IT IS.  I used this image from The Paper Shelter named Holiday Shopping.



I used dies by Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn. The rhinestone swirls are from Michael's and the poinsettia, berries, and holly leaves are from an assortment of shops. I used Glossy accents to make the snow falling and snow on the ground and then sprinkled loose White Glitter Ritz while still wet, to get 3-D snow. I loved coloring this image because of the many color options for the packages and her coat and scarf. I used Copics to color her. I like lots of detail on my cards...and probably need to challenge myself with more CAS cards. But this style fits me and gives me a chance to be creative with my embellishments.

I used a metal snowflake in the middle of this truly outstanding and awesome bow (hehehe) and a metal clothes hanger with the metal charms and beads. There also metal beads in the middle of my silver poinsettia in the bottom corner of this card.  In the post of your card, you must make it clear where and what your metal items are. And here's a close-up of this adorable coat hanger and charms. I purchased the coat hangers from Live and Love Crafts. I had a lot of fun making the card for this challenge.

Now, remember where I live...in the desert of Arizona so that when I say the next sentence, you'll understand better...I love shopping at the holidays with the hustle, bustle, crowds and the malls decorated with garland and giant ornaments hanging from the ceilings...little kids waiting to sit on Santa's lap while he's sitting in the middle of a beautiful chair. I love Christmas, but it's hard to get into the holiday season until December here in the desert since it doesn't cool down until then!
