Such sweet notes!

This beautiful image is by The Paper Shelter and she's named The Music Practice. The challenge this week at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog is PUNCHES AND DIES. Before I go any further, let me tell you that I did NOT color her. She is the colored image, with the colored background from The Paper Shelter. Keep in mind that I also got the black and white image that I could color, but this week I decided to take advantage of the wonderful art work of Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter. So, please don't leave any comments about how beautiful I colored this since I am NOT the talented artist who colored it.

I printed this off on my best Super Smooth Neenah paper on my printer at home. Yes, this is how it looks when you print it off on an el cheapo color printer so imagine if you had a good printer! This card is 6" x 6". I used Glossy Accents on all the background pink flowers--but you can't tell in the photo. I used my Sakura fine point glue pen and applied Cool Glitter Ritz around the tan frame, on my image's cuffs, pant bottoms, skirt ruffles and bow--but the glitter doesn't show up well in the photograph. Sorry!

The pink roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I used my Nellie Snellen punches for the rose leaves (which also emboss the leaf veins) and added Snow Tek to them. The metal frame around my sentiment is from Stampin' Up, the metal corner is from Wild Orchid and the butterfly is a Memory Box die--and I used Frantage embossing powder on all of them. My bow is two-sided satin and the rose in the middle is from Prima and I put a little Snow Tek on the rose, too. The assorted pearls are from my stash.

So, here you go...this is the perfect example of a full digital image and background, and it's the first one I've ever done and I intend on making many more! This card can literally be yours (with the exception of the embellishments) with a click of your mouse. And I have to remind you:

Please consider using an image from The Paper Shelter to increase your winnings if your card is the random winner. The Design Team on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog have made awesome examples as inspiration for the challenge this week of PUNCHES AND DIES. I hope to see you in our challenge!
                                                                             Hugs,
                                                                             Gail

  2. Lovely design, Gail! I like how you've printed the image large enough to really be the focus of the card, your beautiful embellishments frame her perfectly. I've never used the pre coloured versions of images but after seeing this I think I'll have to give it a try!

  30. Hi Gail !! I must answer your comment in my blog as you said I have not used any die to the PS challenge. I have used two of the same die. One around the flowers and the same but bigger behind the flowers. It´s Spellbinders classic scalloped circle die ( Nestabilities). I´m surprised you didn´t see it. There was two cards in my post on my blog , maybe you looked at the second one.

  33. Hi Gail, that's a gorgeous image (it's useful to have pre-coloured images when you are in a hurry, although it always makes me feel slightly guilty when I use one! Silly or what!!) and a fabulous card. Love all your embellies as well - they are perfect touches.

Thanks for the kind comment on my blog for my PS challenge entry and apologies that I didn't follow the challenge theme correctly - I wasn't entirely sure I had it right when I joined in so no worries about not being allowed in.

I will join in another time, and make sure I get the theme right!!!
