A Valentine Card for Tim!

I may be posting this card after Valentine's Day, but it was finished just as the clock struck February 14. No kidding! This card was for my husband, Tim, and I spent hours trying a new technique. Maybe not the smartest thing to do the week of Valentine's Day for a Valentine's Day card!

I stamped this frame stamp by Sweet Stamps on vellum with white ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. Then I paper pierced it all the way around the outside and all the way around on the inside of the frame stamp.  I pressed on the back with a ball tool that made the vellum turn white and then colored on the backside with Copics.

Then I stamped the heart and rose image that I've had for over 20 years and still love the image (and unmounted so I don't know the manufacturer) with white ink on vellum and embossed with white embossing powder and colored on the back of it with Copics, too. I then punched all around the heart and then tore the heart out so it gave a lacy effect around the edge and I used vellum adhesive to adhere it in middle of the Sweet Stamps frame. The finishing touch was a piece of satin ribbon taped over the vellum and pink paper and tucked under. The bow was glued on with the heart glued in the middle. My little charm "Made With Love" was tied on with a piece of white embroidery thread.

I love the look of this card. It's one of the prettiest and sweetest cards I've ever made. I made it for a great guy...one who understands my crafts and appreciates the time involved with each and every card. Oh...and who loves me, too.

                                                                             Hugs,
                                                                             Gail

  8. Oh so pretty and delicate looking - the subtle colors you used complement the design so perfectly. It always helps to know the recipient appreciates the time and effort you put into a beautiful creation like this - hope Tim enjoys it as much as you did, creating it!! I salute you for your courage in tackling something completely different from coloring. You don't have to worry - it turned out beautiful . . .
