She will always be my Valentine!

Have you been following my blog for a bit? If you have, then you know the story of my daughter, Stephanie the veterinarian technician, and her disabled kitty, Allie. Posts that tell the story are here and here. These cards all have in common: Stephanie's red hair, Allie is tan and gray, and there's a wagon. This time she has a red wagon.

Stephanie has been and always will be My Valentine. She's a wonderful daughter and a caring person. I tell her at the end of every conversation, every e-mail and every text (her preferred mode of communciation), I love you. I don't think Stephanie will ever be too old to be My Valentine and this card is for her.



I hope you recognize this little image from Bugaboo. I had to perform surgery on her and add a nose, freckles and a mouth. Steph doesn't like images without noses and mouths...she says that "they're just not right". And what redhead doesn't have freckles!  I apologize to those who believe this little image has been disfigured, but I wouldn't have purchased it and used it otherwise.

I colored this image with Copics and my flowers and leaves are from Wild Orchid Crafts (don't you just love these pink tulips!). I added Stickles to the edges of all the flowers for a little shine. My satin bow is adorned with a pink metal heart brad (which I cut off the legs on the back) that was made to slide a ribbon through. I thought this heart brad was just perfect for this card and I glued it on. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and I punched it out with a SU punch. The buttons are from my container of buttons which have been collected over the years. I used Spellbinders dies for the circle and scallop around the image.

My wonderful husband understands the bond that Stephanie and I have, and instead of taking just me out to dinner on Valentine's Day, he's taking me AND Stephanie. Sounds perfect to me.
