Last year's card Father's Day 2014 featured Tim with our beautiful beagle boy Bailey and our sweetheart girl beagle Lucy driving in a pick-up truck. On October 28, 2014, Bailey went over Rainbow Bridge while taking a nap out on the patio. Our sadness was so overwhelming--and as sad as Tim and I were, Lucy went into a state of depression. Bailey was a tri-colored beagle, and the offspring of two champion beagles. My thought was that I would like a new baby beagle completely different looking that Bailey since there was no other beagle that could be as beautiful. I thought I'd like a lemon beagle (very blonde coloring), a little boy puppy (I found out that neutered boys are awesome companions), and I wanted him now! On Craig's List I found a new baby beagle--the last one from a litter of seven, he was 7 weeks old and the last one left, that needed a forever home. We had talked about names before we saw him and thought that in conjunction with Lucy, what would be another good beagle name...well, Lucy from Charlie Brown has a baby brother named Linus! We went over to see him 2 days later and saw all 7 puppies, their mom and dad, and as I sat on the floor, bombarded with baby beagles who ate my pant legs, chewed on my sneakers, took the end off my shoe lace, pulled on my ponytail, and left play marks all over my arms. A little blonde boy came over, got comfy in the space between my knees and guess what. Oh, who am I kidding...you've figured this out!!! Welcome to the family, Linus! We picked him up one week later, at almost 8 weeks old, and so this is Linus' first Father's Day!
Our two beagles love their Dad. Not only does Dad take them for a walk every single morning, he always shares the last bite of whatever he eats with them. We almost always grill our meat for dinner and the 'kids' always get a bite of it.
As the card maker in the family, I'm expected to make the Father's Day card that they sign and give to their Dad. I picked--yes, the person who makes the card gets to pick the image--this Art Impressions stamp for this year's Father's Day card.
And here's the image close-up.
And here's the inside of the card with the poem and signed.
We love you Dad! Happy Father's Day!
Love,
Lucy and Linus
