The challenge at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' is "Cards for Males". Well, the males in my life are all adults, so I worked on a card that would be fitting for my boss that I've been working with for 17 years.
This poinsettia is a Penny Black stamp and is quite large. This card is 5" x 7". I put watercolor markers on the red rubber of the stamp, misted it with a very fine spray of water and then stamped it on my paper. I used a Stampin' Up punch for the corners and ran some gold metallic twine around the image and mounted it on a dark green background. I then mounted the image to the white cardstock. The last step was stamping Happy Holidays in dark green.
This is what the image looks like close-up. It's a simple technique that makes an elegant flat card. I consider this my "guy" Christmas card since it's a tad more adult and fitting for my attorney boss.
The sponsor for this challenge is My Mums Craft Shop who is donating a £10 voucher to their store! The gals at the Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Challenge have some wonderful cards to inspire you. Please take a look and I hope to see your card in the challenge!
