Happy Birthday Stephanie!

This is a long post, but please don't just look at the picture of the card...there's a story behind it.

My daughter, Stephanie, had a birthday this week and turned 29. She's single, never been married and doesn't have any kids. She's smart, kind, loving and a hard worker. So why is she single?!  She's a Certified Veterinarian Technician here in Phoenix and loves her job.  She's always wanted to work with animals since she was 4 years old and she's followed her dream and I'm darn proud of her. Since her job revolves around animals, and she has a heart of gold, she has 3 dogs and 6 cats. Okay, so now you know the reason she's single. J She needs a guy who has a soft spot for animals (well, there are other traits he needs to have as well) and it's not that easy to find Mr. Right.  Here's Stephanie with her friend, Holly....Stephanie has the short red hair.

Stephanie has a cat named Allie. Allie was dropped off at an emergency animal clinic because her back legs didn't work. She was just a couple of weeks old. No one knows if she was born that way or if something happened to her after birth. After x-rays and an MRI, Allie's diagnoses is that she has a permanent spinal injury rendering her back legs useless and the injury also affects her bowels and urinary system. Allie couldn't have found a better mom than Stephanie. Steph has gotten Allie a special cart that fits on her back end enabling her to use her front legs and get all around. Allie is peach and gray, just like in the picture I colored...well, close to it (I didn't make her pose for the coloring).

When I found the image of this little girl and the wagon at a resale, I thought of Stephanie and Allie. I dug through my cat stamps and was able to mask the wagon and put Allie in the wagon. It's not the first card I've made depicting Stephanie with Allie, see here.  Anyway, here is Stephanie and her physically challenged kitty, Allie. I love you, Stephanie, and am so proud you are my daughter.
