I've had a goal and over the past 6 weeks to make 14 cards. My daughter, Stephanie, had a cervical disc replaced in her neck on August 23. She lives two hours north of us and wasn't allowed to drive so she's staying with us from August 21 until the doctor says she can drive (we estimate September 6) and she brought her 2 dogs and one cat with her. Each morning, there's a card waiting for Steph to cheer her up, or at least make her smile. Here's one of the cards. I used a Bugaboo image.
Here's a close-up of the image. Stephanie has red hair, brown eyes and the colors of this kitty are the colors of her kitty, Allie. The large scalloped die cut is by Whimsy. Oh, and I colored this with Copics in case you want to know. If you don't really care, just skip this part of the paragraph.
The flowers are from I Am Roses, Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts.
Here's the inside, and I have to share this because I found an awesome rubber stamp to share with you. I know this will make Steph smile!
And always, the best for last (I eat my meals like this too, eating what I don't like first and saving the best for last) is my bow. I used this very pretty ribbon and made a double looped bow using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool. I forgot what it's like to attempt bows like this without my bow tool and don't want to even go back there! The bow tool is so easy to use, economical, and small enough to use a pushpin on a wall to hold it close to my craft station (I know this for a fact). That's a little button of a paw with the shank cut off and glued in the middle. I thought it added a little extra cute to the card.
My teammates at Craft-Dee BowZ make exceptional cards and projects. Me...I'm a card maker and don't do many projects, but you should see what they make! I've tried to hire them to make something neat on my behalf but so far none of them has answered my e-mails so you'll see cards on my blog and that's about it.
Each team member (there are 4 of us) have one Tuesday each every month in which we post a card or project on Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog. This month we're sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and our weekly posts are "Fall" oriented and we're using red, gingham and royal blue for our colors. So, stop by each Monday for a new creation!
For you, our fabulous Followers and Participants, the challenge is ANYTHING GOES AND ADD A HANDMADE BOW. So get your card(s) ready, posted, and remember that you can enter the challenge as many times as you want!
Hugs,
Gail

ReplyDeleteGail, your card is adorable (as always) and your coloring is perfect. The image you have used is adorable. Great bow and love your embellies.
ReplyDeleteSweet, adorable, and of course, purr-fect in every way. I'm sure Stephanie is tickled to be taken such great care of, as well as receiving your most thoughtful cards each day. They're sure to be treasured, and you put such love in them, along with details to match the recipient - always an added plus. Lovely colors and you even take the time to do the inside to coordinate so well - and a very cute verse to make one smile, for sure. Just the right amount of girly-ness added to this - the flowers, bow, sequins, diecuts, oh my - I'll say it again -- PURR-FECT !! Meowrr . . .
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautifully colored image, Gail! Wonderful design, and so much "darling-ness" happening all over the card! Her sweet eyes are beautifully sparkly - full of youthfulness - and so is the pretty environment you have placed her in. A gorgeous design! hugs, de
