I colored my image with Copics but used chalk around the star and over the sentiment. The musical note die cut is by Memory Box. And to keep the scene as I imagined, I used this wood plank paper to represent the barn where Jesus was born. I added white flocking to the lamb and bunny for texture.
This white organza bow is a triple loop bow made on my Craft-Dee BowZ tool. I truly could never manage this bow without my Craft-Dee BowZ tool as how would you ever hold the loops and pull them to come out as beautiful as this bow! My husband was standing over my shoulder talking to me about other 'stuff' as I made the bow and he paused in awe as I looped this around, tied it off and slid it off the rods. He said, and I'll quote: Wow, that was easy". This little bow maker is a treasure I will have forever, keep close on hand, and when the day comes I don't need it, I'm passing it down to my daughter. It's one of my least expensive tools, used regularly, never fails me, doesn't need electricity, is portable and can hang by a push pin (how do I know this? Cause it's on a push pin on the wall next to my craft table). And, if anyone out there over thinks their card making and embellishments (like I do), I used this white organza because to me it represents purity.
The Design Team at Craft-Dee BowZ each has a Tuesday to post a project. If you've missed any of the posts, please come on over to the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge blog and scroll down to see each of the projects by the four Design Team members. As always, our monthly challenge to all entrants is ANYTHING GOES AND INCLUDE A HAND MADE BOW. I hope you'll add a hand made bow to your project and enter our challenge this month!
Hugs,
Gail
Oh Gail, this is such a delightful card....love, love, love this nativity scene and the sentiment is a perfect match. Completely beautiful bow too xx
ReplyDeleteThis card is so precious in its simplicity. What a great idea to use the fitting barnwood type background and keep to a fantastic white bow for purity. The flocking is also a wonderful idea for the animals. The sentiment works so well with this beautifully colored image and the musical notes just set it off. This just jumps right out and grabs your attention. Strikingly lovely card - any time of year, Gail !!
