A Fairy Happy Birthday!

There's a new challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog and it sure was an easy one for me. The topic for this week's challenge is LACE.  Use lace on your card/project.  I used this beautiful image from The Paper Shelter named "I Love You Baby".  I didn't print the entire image...I printed off only the fairy and not the frog that accompanies her.  I wrote to the artists/owners of The Paper Shelter and asked if it was okay if I used only part of the image and they said 'yes'.  So, I decided to use just the fairy and make this a Fairy Happy Birthday card.

I colored my image with Copics (and although she looks very red, I did not use the red combinations, but used the peach/salmon colors) and then used my Sakura Quickie glue Pen on her wings and applied Warm Glitter Ritz. I used my Cuttlebug and die cut the image with my new "stitched" die by Memory Box. Then I die cut 2 more stitched rectangles out of solid paper that matched my design paper colors. My sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and I used a punch to cut it out. The metal corner filigree was silver and I colored it with my Copics. The white lace, dark salmon rose lace and dark salmon ribbon are all from my stash. The 3 peach/salmon pearls mounted in metal in the top corner are actually brads. The heart in the middle of my ribbon is a button by Dress It Up and the heart in the middle was actually a light pink that I didn't like so I colored it with my Copics and then put the Ranger Glossy Accents on it.  The pearls on my white cardstock are by Queen & Co. All the dark salmon/peach colors have photographed more red than they actually are, but her blue hair is really that blue! I've never colored a fairy with any color hair other than 'normal' colors but I wanted something that really contrasted with my cardstock papers. Coloring the flowers in her hair the light and dark salmon tones really accents her blue hair, too!
