Since the hop challenge topic is Valentine, here's my Valentine inspiration. This card is 6"x6" and is my favorite size and fold to work with. I feel like I have enough space on the card front to handle the pretty embellishments that I love!

 

 

The large set of hearts are a die by Marianne Crafts. It's a nested set of 4 and they were a present to me from me for Christmas. The heart die cut border across the card is by Whimsy. I used a dark pink paper for this heart border strip but it looks more red in the photograph. I went over the entire die cut with pink Wink of Stella and it has a pretty shine that you can't see. The corner die cut is by La-La Land and the Love You die cut is by Marianne Designs. My Cuttlebug is the best little die cutting machine I have, and I have numerous machines. The brads in the lower left corner are from a package I received years ago from my best friend, Lillian. If you've read any of my posts, you know my goal for 2015 is to use some of these pretty papers and embellishments that I keep 'saving'. (And that is why you see this gorgeous red metallic paper, beautiful flowers and adorable brads. I do admit to hyperventilating as I open these new packages.)

 

This is an adorable image to color and truthfully, I cannot remember where I bought him. He's a digital image and I've searched my digital files and can't find the company where I purchased him. If you recognize him, please leave the info in a comment below and I'll update this post. Otherwise, this little tyke is homeless. Thanks to Darlene who left me the information in her comment below, this little tyke is no longer homeless. He is a creation by Digi Darla's! And after searching on the computer, I don't think Digi Darla's exists anymore!

 



I love the bouquet of assorted red and pink roses and buds below. The swirls are a die by Memory Box and I cut them out of dark pink and red paint chips so the paper was a little heavier than normal. That's my helpful hint for this week...collect paint chips from Home Depot or Lowe's...or wherever paint is sold. They are heavier than regular paper stock and cut out beautifully! They also have a great finish on them. I really like the color red and pairing it up with the brighter blue overalls is a combination I love. And my red and white bow with the red heart button in the middle came out great for the space I had available. Thanks to my trusty Craft-Dee BowZ tool, I can make any size bow now and even multi-looped ones...this has 3 loops! Now, you gotta admit...is that a sales pitch or what?!
