Here's a fabulous challenge right now and I can't imagine who doesn't have what it takes to enter it. The challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog is SNOWFLAKES. I've used what I think is one of the cutest images for winter that I've seen at The Paper Shelter. Her name is Snow Angel. Please tell me that her name doesn't surprise you. Hahaha!
I chose non-traditional colors because I had this awesome paper from Doodlebug. I adore their papers...the colors, the designs and the fact that you can get them in 6x6 or 12x12 sizes. The Christmas tree ribbon is from my stash of Christmas ribbons and it's on a roll and I added a little rhinestone as the star on the trees.
The pink ribbon in the corner is from Michael's. The snowflake in the center of the awesome pink bow (did you read my post from 11/11/14 about bows?) is a snowflake brad that I dabbed in my Versamark pad and then used Sparkle n Sprinkle's Madagascar Green Embossing Powder and then while it was still hot, I dabbed it in some Rubber Cafe white glitter. I did the same technique on the snowflake brads across the bottom, minus the glitter and adding a turquoise rhinestone in the center instead. The white snowflakes were dabbed with Versamark and then I used puffy white embossing powder on them and dabbed them in the white glitter, too...and then I added some Glossy Accents in the center of them.
The snow around my image is done with Glossy Accents and the Rubber Cafe white glitter, too. (Lots of loose glitter on this card, on the carpet, on the table, on my feet and through the house.) I did put a dab of that Glossy Accents on her coat buttons and heart pocket buttons for the fun of it. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.
The lace is from my collection and I have neglected to mark any of my pieces of lace so all lace is from my stash. The jewels in the corner of the image are actually crystals...I had them in my stash for years now, holding back from using them because they're so clear and beautifully glittery and then scolded myself for not using them and broke open the packages. Why do we do that? Save stuff because it's so pretty but it's in a container so it's not like we're enjoying looking at them? Can you see how pretty and clear crystals are? They photographed well, too. This card is 6x6, in case anyone cares and is reading this. :)
Do you know who sponsors The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog? Duh....it's The Paper Shelter! The prize is below and I encourage you to use an image from The Paper Shelter to reap the highest reward possible for winning this challenge. Have you ever looked at their site and see what you get for $3.00? No postage, no handling, no tax, and you get the image within minutes. Buy one image, win $30 worth. Another brand of stamp gets you 3 stamps of your choice. But there are so many that you won't want just 3. So just buy a $3 stamp, use it, and then get to pick 10 or more images if you win.
You know we have a great Design Team at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. Of course it's great...do you think they didn't pick great cardmakers in the last DT call? So, take a look by clicking here and get inspired, get out the SNOWFLAKE stamps, dies, brads...whatever, and go get busy. Winner is announced next Wednesday so you don't have time to do the housework until the card is done and posted. I'm happy to tell your hubby/significant other that if you pass me his/her e-mail address.
Thanks for stopping by and it would be nice if you leave a comment so I can visit your blog.
Hugs,
Gail
