Autumn doesn't really exist in Phoenix, Arizona. We don't have trees that the leaves turn gold and orange since it's the desert. But I grew up in Connecticut and always picked up the turning maple and oak trees and waxed them trying to preserve their colors a little bit longer. I was making an autumn tag and then realized I can't make a card without an image. So, I dug out this Gurlee Girl image and colored her up with my Copics.
This card really is girly girly! I put some dark aqua lace on top of this beautiful paper and then put light orange and also dark orange die by Magnolia and then some light orange ribbon on top of that. My ribbon in the middle of the bow is from my stash and just regular grosgrain. I used a rectangle die from Quik Cutz around my image. My tag is edged with a Martha Stewart punch and oak leaf diecuts by Spellbinders. The little tag with 'autumn' stamped on it is a punch by Marvy. I added some twine, a pinecone, some Styrofoam painted filler, a piece of seam binding and pearls to my distressed tag. The crystal looking rhinestones in the corner are from Queen & Co. I added a dash of glitter on her clothing because I just love glitter!
This is about the closest I'll come to seeing leaves turn this autumn and I think I'll just put this on my shelf for a bit and enjoy the autumn colors.
