Oh, what a fun challenge in August when it's 106 degrees outside my craft room window. Like I can even THINK of Christmas shopping in this heat?! But, being on the team at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' means we make Christmas cards year round which is really nice come December 1 when I see all the cards ready to go into the mail. Then I can focus on my shopping in the cooler temperatures!
Our challenge this month at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' is GIFTS GALORE. That means we'd like to see Christmas packages, more than one, on the front of your card.
Our sponsor this month is All Dressed Up who is generously donating two digital stamps to the winner of this challenge. The Design Team of CASS were also given the images for our cards this month to inspire you. My image below is named All Dressed Up For Christmas.
My image is colored with Copics using my favorite color combination of pink and green. As I've said in previous posts that this is my favorite color combination is because my bedroom as a child was pink and green and I never grew tired of it! I coated my fairy's wings with Cool Glitter Ritz. I used Glossy Accents then Sugar Dust (by Stamp la Jolla) over the red tree ornaments. I used Glossy Accents on all the packages. I added red glitter to the skinny red package and on the red ribbons on the green packages. On the large red package I used green glitter on the ribbon and bow. In person you can see and feel the glossy Accents which give it a nice shine and I'm sorry it doesn't show well in the photos. I added a touch of yellow glitter on the stars. The 3-D wrapped packages are actually teeny tiny boxes made out of heavy cardstock and wrapped in colored foil and then gold twine wrapped around them. I used a punch on the sentiment and the papers are all from Wild Rose.
The Design Team at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' have created outstanding cards this month with these great images from All Dressed Up. Please take a look at them on the blog and it would be nice if you'd leave a little note on each card to say you visited them. We'd love to see you make a card for this challenge and look forward to seeing what you create for our topic of GIFTS GALORE!
Hugs,
Gail

ReplyDeleteCongrats - one more Christmas card to add to your pile for mailing off in, gulp, just FOUR more months! You've done a superb coloring job, and look at you - matching the gifts on the images to the 3-d ones on the card, too . . . and, not only have you done it in your favorite colors, BUT you got to color up a fairy, which I know is one of your favorite type of images, also. Of course it goes without saying that her wings need to have "fairy dust" on them (aka: glitter ritz) !! Splendid card, as always, Gail !!
