Spring has Sprung!!!

I love color and tend to use more pastels than bright colors. So when you saw this card and then this card, you might have thought: oh wow, she's out of the pastel stage of her life. Sorry, but no...I still love the pastels shades more and the purples are probably my most favorite with peachy/pink right behind it..at least for now. When pairing up purple, I love green with it.

This card is for the challenge this week at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and the topic this week is SPRING IS HERE!  This beautiful image (named "Spring Enchantment) is from The Paper Shelter and you can find her here. And, our sponsor is THE PAPER SHELTER!!! 

 

So, the supplies on this card:  Maja Design Papers, Spellbinder diecut around the image, Marianne Design diecuts embossed and inked through the metal die (I'd like to credit Julie at Stamps, Paper, Ribbons n Things for the use of these diecuts and how pretty they looked when inked), Wild Orchid flowers, Antique White Frantage embossing powder, white Wilton stamens, Gesso paint, and a metal flower corner, metal library clasp, pearls and lace from my stash. I used my Copics to color this sweet image and her young robin friend.

 

She colored up beautifully considering first her shirt was dusty rose and I didn't like it so I colored over it and made it the purple. Then her skirt was a soft teal green and I didn't like that, so I colored over it with the lime greens. Typical girl...couldn't figure out what to wear! One thing I knew not to mess with was her hair. Once I colored it dark auburn, I knew I couldn't change her into a blonde. :) These Copic markers are pretty fabulous.
