Hot chocolate, coffee, tea...

The challenge at The Paper Shelter Blog this week is ANYTHING GOES!  I used the image named Coffee Break II.  Isn't she the cutest, and whether she's drinking hot chocolate, coffee or tea, I just had to color her up! She's carrying her tablet around with her, like so many people do nowadays, too!

I used my beloved Copics, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (look at those spring tulips and poppy...aren't they awesome!), the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch and the swirl in there is by Magnolia, jewels from Queen & Co., paper from Michael's (purchased over a year ago), two kinds of lace, ribbon and a button (I used my white gel pen to put the dots on the button) from my stash, oval nesting dies by QuicKutz and the beautiful Marianne Die behind the ovals. I applied Stickles to the edges of each flower and I used my Sakura fine point glue pen and applied Cool Glitter Ritz on the butterfly which is a die by Elisabeth Crafts.

Of all the embellishments on my cards, my favorite is lace. When I was growing up my Grandma Bruneau had lots of crocheted doilies around her house and I've always loved the look. As I've gotten older, I have my own collection of doilies and I've carried my love of crocheted lace to my cards. I've stretched my wings over the past three years and now use all kinds of lace on my cards. When I started my blog, my best friend, Lillian, came up with the name Lacey Lassy since I love lace and my last name is Lass.
