The challenge this week at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog is CAS, Clean and Simple. This is harder than it seems...to make a beautiful card, but make it CAS.
I like CAS cards a lot but I have a big problem making them. So, while you look at my blog and see some of my fancy cards, know that this card took me longer to make than one of those "fancy" cards and feel free to shake your head in disbelief. But, if you are like me and CAS cards are a challenge, nod your head so I know I'm not alone.
I dry embossed the top section of the white paper. For the flowers, I took one single stamp by Hero Arts. I used Stampin Up Ink and Stamped the Red on the flower section and the green on the stems. Then I would go along the page and stamp 3 times before re-inking. The card is a three generation card. One generation is the brightest ink, the middle color is the second stamping and the lightest is the third stamping. It almost looks like different color pinks, doesn't it? Then I mounted that sheet on red paper the length of my card and then stamped "Just for You" in the bottom corner.
This is my CAS card...and I prefer it to call it Clean and Sweet!

I love this card, Gail. Your stamping is just perfect and the embossed background keeps the white space but adds another layer of interest. Gorgeous! Hugs, Tracey x
ReplyDeleteThis card is absolutely beautiful! I thought you had used different inks for the pink/red shades and a stamp that consisted of several flowers, so I was even more impressed when I read that you created this fantastic flower scene using a stamp of one flower only! And I didn't know of the technique of "generation stamping", so thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGail, truly this is perfect. I think it's fabulous even if it took ages...it's worth it. Have a great weekend sweetie xx
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous 'clean and sweet' card, Gail! Great stamping and the embossed panel gives it texture without compromising the simplicity!

ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, Gail -- and knowing you, I'm sure this was an extra tough one to do -- fingers get SO itchy to add an embellishment here and one over there, and ooo, gotta have another here to balance it out . . . I know exactly what you're saying. But, your card IS definitely clean and sweet !!
ReplyDeleteI like clean and simple cards too and yours is gorgeous!!
