Love Is All Around!

This week at Sweet Stampin' our challenge to you is "Love Is All Around!"  Now this doesn't have to be a Valentine card, but it is the perfect time to post the card you made for the one you love or maybe someone you just like a lot. Let's face it, you have to like someone a lot to spend the time making them a card. Otherwise, hello Hallmark.

I'm partial to "pretty and cute" cards. I always hope the recipients of my cards appreciate "cute", too. I made this card for my husband for Valentine's Day. He has no choice but to like pretty and cute or I'll stop cooking dinner and cleaning the house.

I think peach is a favorite color of mine but anything in the pinks will do, too! I used two dies on this card:  a Stampin' Up doily die and the scallop Spellbinders die. Oh, and there's a little cheesecloth to soften the look of this card, too.  I used a new white crocheted flower behind the peach rose and a Nellie Snellen leaf punch for the rose leaves and a fern punch by McGill.  The flowers are primarily from Wild Orchids.  I used a Prima acrylic flower for the middle of the satin bow and a frosted acrylic wafer on which I stamped Happy Valentine's Day. I was gifted with a bag of pearl hearts which I glued one onto the wafer. The pearl swirls are from a local craft store. One of my favorite items of all times is  lace and the lace is an old piece from my collection. I applied Stickles to her lace, hair bows and the rose. I put a little Glossy Accents on the tiny hearts in her bouquet. I colored with Copics. Phew.

And here's a close-up of this sweet Magnolia stamp named Tilda Sending Love Letters. She fits my definition of pretty and cute.
