Snowflakes

The challenge for this month at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' is SNOWFLAKES. We want to see snowflakes! I used a TiddlyInks stamped image for this challenge, not a digital.

The background paper is made with Core-dinations whitewashed paper and an embossing folder by Embossilicious so that when I sanded it, the snowflakes came out pink. Then the background on the image is a stencil by Memory Box on smooth white paper and I used a Stampin' Up dauber with pink ink. I used absolutely no design paper on this card, which is very rare for me! The Christmas tree is a diecut by La-La Land and the icicle die is by Marianne with White Glitter Ritz added over the entire die cut.

I colored my image with Copics and then fussy cut the image.  I used Sno-Tek for the snow and Star Dust Stickles for my little dots of snowflakes.

I put a pretty paper doily under my Wild Orchid flowers, ribbon, pearl pin (from my best friend, Lillian) and sequin arrangement and added a little white paint to the flowers. I'm not a sequin fan, but I found a bottle of assorted pink/peach sequins by Doodlebug and couldn't resist getting them. I used white pearl paint in the center of each of my sequins since I dislike seeing the sequin hole.

The sentiment tickets and matching die cut are by Whimsy. The snowflake is actually a pink foam snowflake and then a white plastic snowflake layered on top of it with a sequin in the middle.

The prize this month is Stamp Art by Kathryne who has donated 5 digis to the winner! The gals on the Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Design Team have made some fabulous projects for the SNOWFLAKE challenge. Stop by and take a look and we hope you'll be inspired to join this challenge!

                                                                                        Hugs,
                                                                                        Gail

  2. Wow! Gail, this is so beautiful! I had to spend some time here today just looking at every detail and reading how you created this. It's stunning! I love pink anyway, but this is gorgeous! I was blown away that there is no dp here - awesome how you made the backgrounds! Definitely a winner and I expect to see your name on Paper Playful a lot for this one, my friend! Wishing you a joyful day!

  15. Wow, how amazing that you made your own backgrounds -- I would have totally taken it for granted that you'd used paper, as so many of us do nowadays. Fantastic job on the stencil AND the embossing/sanding. This is SO pretty done in "pinks" and very fitting for the month of October for cancer awareness. Your snowflakes are so cute, and the glitz and glitter on this card are Awesome. I'm not a fan of sequins either, but these have certainly added some glamor to your stunningly beautiful creation - great thought to cover the hole with pearl pen. This is definitely deserving of some "wins" in the challenges you've chosen to enter!!
